Terms of Sale

Before placing an order, we recommend that you read these Terms of Sale carefully. They explain how we provide our products, your responsibilities as a customer, what happens if there is an issue with your order, and other important details relating to your purchase.

By placing an order through our website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and confirm that you have read and understood them.

Accuracy of Content

We make every effort to ensure that all products displayed on our website are described as accurately as possible. However, from time-to-time errors may occur. While we strive to keep all information up to date and correct, we cannot guarantee that all product descriptions, pricing, or other content on our website will always be completely accurate or error-free. We cannot accept responsibility for any errors, omissions, or outcomes resulting from the use of this information.

We aim to display our products as accurately as possible. However, colours may appear differently depending on factors such as monitor settings, browser software, or the device used to view our website. In addition, slight colour variations may occur between different production batches, and we cannot guarantee exact colour consistency between batches.

We are not responsible for pricing or stock information published by third-party websites, articles, or other external sources. As such, we are unable to honour or refund any price discrepancies that arise from information published outside of our website.

Order Acceptance

When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase a product from us. After placing your order, you will receive an automatic order confirmation email acknowledging that we have received your order.

We reserve the right to cancel or decline any order prior to dispatch for reasons including, but not limited to, pricing errors, product availability issues, or delivery restrictions. If this occurs, we will notify you and provide a full refund for any payment already made.

Until your order has been dispatched, we reserve the right to cancel or decline an order if necessary. This may happen in situations such as pricing errors, product availability issues, or if we are unable to deliver to the requested address.

These situations are rare, but if we are unable to fulfil your order after payment has been made, we will contact you as soon as possible and issue a full refund using your original payment method.

Pricing

We always aim to offer our customers the best possible prices. All prices shown on our website include VAT, but delivery charges are not included unless stated otherwise.

Any applicable delivery costs will be clearly displayed during checkout before you complete your purchase.

-Promotions & Discounts

From time to time, we may run promotions, sales, or special offers on selected products. These offers apply only to the items included in the promotion and are available for a limited time, subject to stock availability.

-Discount Codes

Occasionally, we may provide discount codes that can be applied to selected products or minimum basket values. Each discount code will have its own terms and expiry date, which will be clearly stated when the code is issued.

If you return an item that was purchased using a discount code, your refund will reflect the price actually paid after the discount was applied.

To ensure promotions remain fair for all customers, we reserve the right to cancel or refuse orders if we reasonably believe that a promotion or discount code has been used in an unintended or unfair way.

-Product Bundles

From time to time, we may offer product bundles. Bundles are a set of selected products grouped together and offered at a discounted price.

If you purchase a bundle and later decide to return one of the items, any refund will be based on the discounted bundle value of that item rather than its individual full retail price.

Prices on our website may change from time to time. We reserve the right to update or change product prices at any time without prior notice. We are unable to offer price adjustments on items purchased during a sale, promotion, or using a discount code. Once an item has been purchased at a discounted price, we cannot adjust the price if the item is later further reduced.

Before You Place an Order

Buying furniture online can sometimes be a little tricky, so we recommend taking a few moments to consider the following before placing your order:

  • Delivery Access
    Delivery is made to the entrance of the first communal door at your property. Unfortunately, our delivery team is unable to enter your home or property.
  • Access to Your Property
    Please check that the furniture packages can easily be brought into your property. Consider factors such as door widths, staircases, lifts, hallways, or narrow passageways. We recommend reviewing the package dimensions listed on the product page to make sure the boxes will fit through your doors and access points.
  • Package Weight
    Some furniture boxes can be heavy. Please make sure you have arranged any additional help you may need to move the boxes inside your property, as our delivery team will not be able to assist with this.
  • Room Fit
    Before ordering, we recommend measuring the space where you plan to place the furniture. Use the product dimensions listed on the website to ensure the item will fit comfortably in your room.

Taking a few minutes to check these details in advance can help ensure your delivery goes smoothly.

Payment

We accept payment for all orders via credit or debit card, PayPal, Klarna, and Google Pay. Payments are processed securely through our website.

Payments Using Klarna

If you choose to pay with Klarna, please note that the payment agreement is between you and Klarna, not with us. Klarna may decline your application for “Pay Later” or “Pay Later in 3” for reasons including:

  • Your financial circumstances may not meet Klarna’s requirements. We recommend trying a different payment method or placing an order for a smaller amount.
  • You may have outstanding payments from previous Klarna purchases.
  • A required field at checkout, such as your date of birth, may have been missed.

Klarna is an independent payment provider, and we have no control over whether a payment is approved. If you experience any issues with your Klarna payment, please contact Klarna Customer Service directly for assistance.

 

Delivery Information

Our drivers do their best to deliver your order smoothly, but sometimes there may be restrictions on where they can park or access your property. If you know of any delivery challenges in advance, please let us know by contacting us at customerservice@modernhometouch.co.uk.

For safety reasons, our drivers will not leave deliveries in a safe place or with a neighbour without your prior permission.

Standard deliveries are made to the communal entrance of your delivery address. We offer free shipping on orders over £99.

If your delivery has special requirements, such as restricted access or large/heavy items, please contact us beforehand to arrange a special delivery quote.

 

Returning Products

We understand that sometimes a product might not be exactly what you wanted or expected. That’s why we offer a 30-day change of mind period.

If you decide to return an item, please note that return shipping is at your own cost. Unfortunately, we are unable to arrange free collections.

To be eligible for a full refund, items must be returned in the following condition:

  • Unopened and unused
  • In their original packaging (including all vacuum-sealed products, still sealed)
  • In a resalable condition, with packaging and product intact

Once we receive your return, our returns team will inspect the product and packaging and take photos of any damage.

If a returned product is used or damaged, we may not be able to issue a full refund, as we cannot resell the item. In such cases, we may only offer a partial refund depending on the condition of the item.

Packaging for Returns

  • Please return products in the original packaging whenever possible.
  • If the original packaging is not available, use sturdy packaging with cardboard backing to protect the product.
  • Excessively damaged packaging may result in a declined refund.

Hygiene Products

For hygiene reasons, certain items such as sofa cushions, and other soft goods can only be returned if they are unused and unopened in their original packaging. All vacuum-sealed packaging must remain sealed.

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to change your mind within 14 days of receiving your order. If you decide to cancel your purchase, you must keep the item in your possession and take reasonable care of it until it is returned.

Cancellations and Refunds

We aim to provide products that meet high standards and are suitable for their intended purpose. In accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, customers are entitled to a refund, repair, or replacement if a product is faulty, damaged, or not as described.

Please note that gift cards and electronic voucher payments cannot be returned or exchanged for cash.

Items returned in a condition that is not new or unused may not be eligible for a full refund unless they are faulty. This policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Cancelling an Order Before Delivery

If you wish to cancel your order before it has been delivered, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to process your cancellation request. However, once an order has been processed or picked in our warehouse, we may not be able to amend or cancel it. In this case, you may need to wait until the item is delivered and then follow our returns process.

-            If your order has already been dispatched and you would like a refund, please refuse the delivery when the driver arrives or when the carrier contacts you regarding the delivery. The item will then be returned to us, and your refund will be processed within 28 working days.

-            After refusing the delivery, we recommend contacting us by phone or email with your order ID and postcode. This will help us locate your order and confirm its return status more quickly.

Please note that return postage charges from the carrier will apply and will be deducted from your refund. The cost may vary depending on the size of the item ordered.

Missing Parts

If you have received your item and some parts are missing, please contact us and we will work with you to resolve the issue.

To help us process your request quickly, please check the instruction manual for the name or code of the missing part(s) before contacting us.

In some cases, we may need to request replacement parts from the manufacturer, which may take additional time. However, we will do our best to arrange the replacement parts and have them sent to you as quickly as possible.

If we are unable to source the missing parts, or if the product was delivered fully assembled and parts cannot be replaced, we will work with you to find a suitable alternative solution.

Faulty or Damaged Items

If you receive an item that is faulty or damaged, please report it to us within 7 working days of delivery. If a fault develops after delivery, it must be reported within 30 days.

Our Customer Service team may request photos or videos of the issue to help assess the fault and determine the best way to resolve it.

Please note that we may not be able to cover the cost of return shipping if images or videos of the fault are not provided.

Products which are reported as damaged as part of a larger order - in these cases we offer to collect only the damaged item free of charge.

Customer Reviews

After your item has been dispatched, we will automatically send you an email approximately ten days after delivery inviting you to leave feedback. All reviews are moderated before being published on our website.

Please note that customer reviews reflect individual opinions and do not form part of the official product specifications or description. We cannot be held responsible for any inaccuracies in reviews.

By submitting a review, you agree that any images you provide may be used in our promotional or marketing campaigns.

Events Outside Our Control

We cannot be held responsible or liable for any delay or failure to fulfil our obligations under a contract if the cause is beyond our reasonable control.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Strikes, lockouts, or other industrial action by third parties
  • Civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack, or threat of terrorist attack
  • War (declared or not) or preparations for war
  • Fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic, or other natural disasters
  • Failure of public or private telecommunication networks
  • Unavailability of rail, shipping, aircraft, motor transport, or other means of public or private transport
  • Unforeseen circumstances involving carriers or drivers

In such cases, we will do our best to inform you and minimize any inconvenience, but we cannot accept liability for delays, cancellations, or other issues caused by these events.

Other important information

Modern Home Touch is a limited company registered in England whose registered office is at Spaces Units A Station View, Guildford, Surrey, GU2 4AR.

This contract is between you and us. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms, whether under the contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 or otherwise.

Modern Home Touch reserves the right to change these Terms & Conditions at any time.
